| I enrolled in the 1980s in classic life drawing classes
through the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, CA. I attended those classes for about a year, but when a new class titled
“Drawing with Expression” opened, I enrolled. It encouraged me to experiment with the human form and portraiture and I
felt emboldened to investigate whimsical and surreal extensions of classical draftsmanship. The 1970s through the late
1980s saw me work primarily on paper. |
